Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 4x10s | Rotating Monday – Friday with some weekends (at least once per month)

Key Responsibilities

• Compound and admix intravenous solutions as directed by the pharmacist in charge, and clean laminar flow hood and countertops per hospital policy.
• Count, pour, and prepare pharmaceuticals for prescriptions; affix labels in a safe and accurate manner.
• Place drug products into specified containers for floor stock, including stationary and mobile drug carts, emergency drug supplies, and clinics.
• Document quality assurance activities including refrigerator temperatures, late charges, and other required QA tasks.
• Review inventory levels to identify and remove outdated or compromised drugs; ship returns to appropriate vendors or reverse distributors.
• Receive ordered items and place into stock; refer all discretionary tasks to the pharmacist.

Required Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a recognized pharmacy technician training program.
• Active California Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.
• Ability to interact with others in a professional and pleasant manner.
• Ability to frequently bend, squat, kneel, reach above shoulders, stand, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
• IV compounding experience strongly preferred.
