District 16 is hiring a Business Insurance Agent (BIA) to grow a profitable book of commercial business while partnering with established Farmers agents across the Missouri and Kansas sides of the metro. This is an entrepreneurial role with a built-in head start. Instead of building a pipeline from scratch, you'll work alongside agency owners who already have customer relationships and refer commercial opportunities to you. What you'll do Partner with District 16 agents to identify, market, and write new commercial policies. Run needs-based conversations with business owners to understand their risks. Quote, structure, and bind coverage through Farmers Business Insurance Express (FBIE), including Businessowners Policies (BOP), Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation, and Commercial Umbrella. Prospect and network locally to generate new commercial opportunities. Deliver proactive service, policy reviews, and cross-sell support to retain clients long term. Refer ineligible or declined risks to Kraft Lake Insurance Agency through the FBIE system to keep solutions in front of the client. What you bring Active Property & Casualty license (Missouri and/or Kansas), or ability to obtain prior to full-time appointment. At least one year of customer-facing sales experience in commercial insurance (program minimum); 2+ years preferred. Entrepreneurial drive to build and own a book of business. Strong networking, communication, and relationship-building skills. Comfort managing a sales pipeline and closing business; experience with CRM and quoting platforms preferred.
