Pre-Registered Dietitian

General Statement Of Duties: Under direct supervision of a registered dietitian, to assist in the development and implementation of medical nutritional therapy for individuals in the Porterville Developmental Center (PDC) facility and perform other related work.

The classification of Pre-Registered Dietitian is a temporary appointment classification used for recruitment of professional dietitians. All appointments in this class are made on a temporary basis and are not to exceed nine months. Incumbents, upon becoming registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association, will then become eligible for appointment to the class of Registered Dietitian.

This position is not eligible for telework, this position is in person only.

Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three (3) percent in exchange for five (5) hours per month of the Personal Leave Program (PLP).

Temporary state housing may be available for those relocating to fill hard to recruit positions. Housing assignments and rates will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.

Pursuant to California Government Code requirements, candidates must be residents of the State of California at the time of appointment.

This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States. The Department does not sponsor employment visas for this position.
