Personal Lines Underwriter - Atlanta, GA Hybrid (3 days in office per week) Atlanta, GA, USA Join our established, leading Wholesale Insurance Broker client as an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter! What you’ll do: Build, manage, and grow a profitable personal lines book of business. Develop and maintain strong relationships with agency partners, serving as a primary point of contact. Execute targeted marketing strategies to drive new business and maximize renewal retention. Evaluate, rate, quote, and bind risks, ensuring proper coverage, pricing, and underwriting discipline. Handle complex new and renewal accounts, including unique or hard-to-place risks. Collaborate with brokerage facilities and leadership on underwriting referrals and deal strategy. Track and analyze performance metrics (hit ratio, retention, premium growth, loss ratio) and take action to improve results. Mentor and support Associate Underwriters, contributing to team development and performance. What We’re Looking For: 3+ years of underwriting experience (commercial or personal lines), with E&S experience preferred. Strong sales acumen and a relationship-driven mindset. Proven ability to manage and grow a book of business. Solid underwriting judgment with experience handling complex or non-standard risks. Effective communicator with strong negotiation and client-facing skills. Ability to analyze performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Active insurance license; CPCU, CIC, or similar designations are a plus .
