Design Engineer - Electrical Panel DesignLocation: On-site in Denton, TXSalary: $130-160k Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Design Engineer specializing in electrical panel design to develop safe, code-compliant control panels and system schematics for industrial and commercial applications. The role focuses on creating detailed panel layouts, producing accurate electrical drawings and bills of materials, ensuring compliance with NEC and UL standards, and supporting manufacturing and commissioning activities to deliver reliable, buildable products.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end electrical panel design including enclosure layouts, component placement, wiring, and terminal arrangements.Create and maintain system schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and circuit detail drawings.Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), panel cut lists, and procurement packages.Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards (NEC, UL) and prepare documentation for UL listings and shop assembly.Collaborate with mechanical engineers, purchasing, manufacturing (UL manufacturing shop), and field technicians to resolve design-for-manufacture and design-for-commissioning issues.Perform design reviews, tolerance checks, and clash detection to ensure fit, function, and safety.Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), commissioning, and field troubleshooting as required.Update and maintain CAD models and drawings using electrical design tools, and implement revisions based on testing and feedback.Drive continuous improvement in panel standards, documentation practices, and design reuse to reduce cost and cycle time.Provide technical support to sales and project teams during proposal development and project execution.Qualifications3+ years of experience in electrical panel design with a portfolio of developed panels and enclosure layouts.Strong understanding of electrical circuitry, system schematics, and the ability to interpret and produce detailed electrical drawings.Familiarity with NEC codes and UL standards, including NEC Article 409 (Industrial Control Panels), UL508A and UL891.Experience with SolidWorks Electrical and/or AutoCAD Electrical for schematic and panel layout creation.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401k with comapny matchPaid parental leaveDisability insurance Paid time off
