RN Unit Manager

We are seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to oversee operations in a long-term care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing leadership and clinical management, along with proven experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, or in a similar managerial role within a travel position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage nursing staff to ensure high standards of patient care are met.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance operational efficiency.
• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and guidance to nursing staff.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during weekends as needed.
• Monitor and manage medication administration and related processes.
• Step in as necessary to provide coverage and maintain appropriate staffing levels.

Schedule

The position requires a Monday through Friday schedule, with daytime hours. The RN Unit Manager will have a dedicated office space and may be required to be flexible with availability for weekend coverage.

Requirements

• Must possess valid nursing licensure and maintain current CPR certification.
• A minimum of two years of experience in long-term care.
• Proficiency with PointClickCare or similar electronic health record systems.
• Previous leadership experience as ADON, DON, or Unit Manager is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team management.
• Flexibility to adapt in dynamic situations and provide coverage where necessary.

Additional Information

Travelers must work two out of three holidays with one holiday off to be determined during orientation. Shift schedules are subject to facility needs, and requests for time off (RTO) will only be considered after successful completion of orientation.
