Lead Electrical EngineerEaton's Engineering Service & Systems Division is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team. The Switchgear Modernization division of EESS designs and manufactures custom solutions that allow for the modernization of both LV and MV equipment. The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting design development, implementation, and design validation for a wide range of Switchgear Modernization products.In this role you will:Lead and execute design projects, ensuring compliance with internal processes and standardsAid in the creation and approval of electrical drawings, including electric schematics, wiring diagrams, and three-line diagrams for distribution and control products to include medium & low voltage assemblies, RPR2, components, and all associated components.Work closely with the engineering team to coordinate design activities, resolve technical issues, and facilitate knowledge sharing for productsCollaborate with the operations team to support seamless product release and industrialization for customer orders, addressing manufacturability and assembly requirementsParticipate in and lead design reviews, technical discussions, and cross-functional meetings to ensure project objectives are metGuide engineering teams in interpreting complex customer requirements and translating them into existing or new designs.Schedule and perform design verification/validation testing adhering to low and medium voltage standardsCreates technical reports, functional specifications and presentations for design solutionsSupport prototype build, testing and delivery of products to the customerDrive and manage product releases in product lifecycle management software, ensuring accurate documentation, configuration control, and timely delivery of product data to downstream teamsDrive implementation of systems and design automation updates to facilitate generation of customer order documentation needed for operations and supply chain to schedule, build and ship productContribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and product qualityCoordinates all UL design and certification testingStays current with the latest technological trends and applies knowledge to the development of low and medium voltage productsProvide support to management on technical direction of projects and processesCoach and develop engineering talent; deliver technical training across departmentsIdentify and implement best practices for design, leveraging global resources and partners as neededQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline from an accredited institutionMinimum of five (5) years electrical industry work experienceNo relocation is being offered. Candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of Greenwood, SC to be considered. Active duty military candidates are exempt from this restrictionAbility to travel up to 25% of the timeEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in electrical engineering or related disciplineFive (5) years industry work experience in electrical product developmentExperience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, specifically EnoviaMinimum Three (3) years of engineering experience with new product development or design, preferably in Medium Voltage productsExperience in model-based design and simulation techniques for various aspects of system designExperience with product industrialization, including process validation, manufacturing support, and customer order fulfillmentAbility to read schematics and interpret the behavior of electronic systemsAbility to analyze and troubleshoot analog and digital control circuitryFamiliarity with common tools and methods to work in high power labSkills:Position Success Criteria:• Ability to lead electrical engineer aspects of projects from inception to qualification. Cross functional team development experience. Experience developing electrical systems. Strong collaborative orientation and proven ability to work effectively in team-oriented environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with management, engineering peers, and operations personnel. Goal-oriented and self-motivated, able to drive projects to completion with minimal supervision. Technical expertise in electrical engineering design, product release processes, and industrialization support for switchgear or similar products. Proficient in 3D modeling software (e.g., AutoDesk Inventor) and PLM tools. Experience with mechanical hardware associated with electrical equipment
