Ensure patients are positioned correctly and protected during use. Prepare patients for examination: conduct interviews, verify patient information, record medical history, confirm purpose of visit, perform preliminary physical tests, conduct point-of-care testing as needed, and provide patient information to provider. Maintain medical records, scan charts to patient files, conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up, perform daily equipment calibration, maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, submit repair tickets. Collaborate with ordering/treating provider to determine appropriate procedures or views. Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly. Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and safety, and answer questions. Accurately position patients and equipment for imaging. Select proper ionizing factors, adjust radiographic controls, and capture clear diagnostic images. Perform routine equipment maintenance, clean x-ray equipment, and manage supplies. Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA. Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures. Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation. Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of x-ray procedures and protocols. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary for x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement. Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards common to radiology. Positioning patients properly for the x-ray procedure required. Identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor. Following infection control and radiological safety procedures. Qualifications Graduation from an approved Radiologic Technology program. High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in a clinical setting preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required.
