About the Job About the Brands: Next Stop D.C.: Next Stop DC is a unique retail concept celebrating the history, culture, and legacy of trains, rail travel, and transportation. The store offers themed merchandise, gifts, collectibles, and educational products inspired by railway history and travel culture. 1920 Merch: 1920 Merch is a culturally driven apparel and merchandise brand inspired by the Women's Suffrage Movement and the legacy of women's empowerment, advocacy, and social change. The brand focuses on storytelling through fashion, lifestyle merchandise, and culturally inspired retail experiences. Job Summary: SLA Worldwide is seeking a Retail Associate to support daily operations for Next Stop DC while also assisting with hybrid responsibilities for 1920 Merch. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer interaction, culture-driven retail, merchandising, and working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will help create an engaging customer experience while supporting inventory, merchandising, social media engagement, and operational tasks across both brands. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service aligned with brand values and customer experience standards.
- Assist customers with merchandise selection, product knowledge, and promotions.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards.
- Support inventory management, stock replenishment, and operational procedures.
- Operate POS systems and handle transactions accurately.
- Assist with merchandise organization and fulfillment support for 1920 Merch & Next Stop D.C.
- Support marketing initiatives, social media content, and community engagement efforts.
- Work collaboratively with management and team members to support daily operations.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous retail, customer service, or sales experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable multitasking.
- Passion for history, culture, retail, or storytelling brands.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced airport and retail environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Energetic, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
- Work with unique brands focused on culture, history, and storytelling.
