Classroom Aide

The Classroom Aide at CHCCAA plays a crucial role in advancing our mission to expand opportunities and build self-sufficiency for our community members. This position supports the Head Start Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The role involves providing supplies materials and support for the classroom, and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere. The ideal candidate will use their skills to embody our values and contribute to our vision of a thriving, self-sufficient community.

Essential Job Functions:

Functional Responsibilities: Support teaching staff by fulfilling requests for supplies needed in the classroom; order supplies as needed. Inspect incoming materials for conformity to purchase order specifications; reports shortages, damage, or other discrepancies; provides packaging and logging materials to manager. In coordination with teaching staff, rotate items in the classroom to help promote literacy. Perform scheduled checks of first aid kits and refill as needed. Maintain accurate records to reflect quantity, type and value of materials, equipment, merchandise and supplies in the designated storage room. Provide coverage for breaks as needed in the classroom. Assist in periodic and annual inventories.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Required Education, Skills and Experience: High School diploma Minimum of 1 year clerical or administrative experience, with inventory management and supply responsibilities Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Experience working effectively with diverse families and communities
