Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days in the office) Industry: Private Equity / Real Assets / Alternative Investments Employment Type: Full-Time Company Overview (Confidential Search) A leading alternative investment firm with a strong presence in real estate and private equity is seeking a highly skilled Investment Accounting Associate to join its dynamic team. With a strong focus on value-driven investments, this firm fosters a collaborative, fast-paced culture with excellent growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Supervise third-party administrators and review monthly/quarterly property financial statements. Convert property financials from tax/historical GAAP, IFRS, or other bases to US GAAP. Prepare and review disposition gains, waterfall calculations, and promote allocations. Ensure compliance with income recognition and capitalization policies. Coordinate year-end property audits and assist with tax return preparation. Collaborate with deal teams, asset management, and operations on acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, and capital activity. Support valuations and coordinate with audit firms and fund accounting teams. Handle ad hoc projects and contribute to cross-departmental initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2-6 years of experience in real estate accounting, public accounting, or fund administration. Strong understanding of journal entries, financial statements, and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with accounting systems is a plus. Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized with strong communication skills. Proactive and adaptable in fast-paced investment environments. $120,000 – $155,000 base salary plus performance incentives. Competitive benefits package and long-term growth opportunities.
