Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week night shift travel contract in an 854-bed hospital's Respiratory Services department in Asheville, NC.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Services department of a large 854-bed acute care hospital serving as a regional referral center with a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III NICU, and children's hospital
• Adult and pediatric/neonatal patient populations served across critical care units and general floors
• Patient ratios range from 10 to 25
• Equipment includes GE R860 adult ventilators, Draeger infant/pediatric ventilators, Newport HT70 transport ventilator, V60 non-invasive device, Vapotherm, and Comfort Flow high-flow oxygen devices
• EMR: Cerner
• Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Floating required to all critical care units and floors
• At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required

Requirements

• Active RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required
• Active North Carolina Respiratory Therapy license required — license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required, with active experience within the last 6 months
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS required (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of start)
• NRP preferred, and required if assigned to care for neonatal patients
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across adult, pediatric, and neonatal service lines
• Night shift staffing includes 12–16 RRTs for adult service lines and 3–4 RRTs for NICU/Peds service lines
• Required scrub color: Medium Gray/Pewter
