Position Purpose

Primary function is to accurately schedule patients for outpatient procedures. Pre-register patients by entering information into computer accurately and in a professional and courteous manner.

Position Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or GED preferred. One or two years of college preferred.

Experience: Hospital or similar medical facility experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.

Licenses/Certificates: none required

Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills; Ability to coordinate and maintain complex schedules with a high degree of accuracy; Excellent customer service, written communication, and interpersonal skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and scheduling software; Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities; Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records; Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

General Responsibilities:

1. Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical or employment status or patients of Bradley Medical Center and their families.

2. Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.

3. Participate in Performance Improvement activities.

4. Communicate in an acceptable, easily understood manner.

5. Responsible for scheduling of patients for outpatient procedures.

6. Responsible for pre-keying patient accounts to create account number.

7. Provide accurate scheduling of patients in accordance with the department scheduling guidelines.
