Quality Engineer, Kernsville, NC
\n \nThe Quality Engineer supports the Coatings (TTC) division, ensuring compliance with
\nquality certifications, managing audits, and driving continuous improvement in supplier and
\ncustomer quality.
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\n• Lead and support quality certifications (ISO/IEC 17025, IATF16949, AS9100).
\n• Manage document control: creation, revision, and maintenance of quality documentation,
\nprocesses, and standards.
\n• Coordinate and conduct internal audits; manage customer and supplier audits.
\n• Serve as primary quality contact for assigned customers.
\n• Respond to customer concerns, returns, and credit requests.
\n• Lead/assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and develop corrective action strategies.
\n• Create and distribute Quality Alerts.
\n• Approve and maintain visual inspection standards, physical testing specifications, and
\ncustomer-specific requirements.
\n• Monitor quality reporting data, customer scorecards, and returns/allowances metrics.
\n• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) for material disposition.
\n• Assist with FMEA, Control Plan maintenance, and MSA processes.
\n• Collaborate with process engineers and managers to ensure compliance and continuous
\nimprovement.
\n \nEducation & Skills
\n• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
\n• 2+ years in manufacturing, quality engineering, or industrial environment.
\n• Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO/IEC 17025, IATF16949, AS9100).
\n• Proficiency in Minitab or statistical analysis software.
\n• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology (Green Belt/Black Belt preferred).
\n• Strong skills in auditing, supplier quality management, and corrective action planning.
\n• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
\n \nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
\n• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedures, and work instructions in English.
\n• Ability to complete basic reports and communicate effectively with supervisors and
\ncoworkers in English.
\n• Ability to perform basic math, including measurements and simple algebra.
\n• Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions and troubleshoot routine
\nissues in English.
\n• Strong focus on quality, productivity, and safe equipment operation.

\nPhysical Requirements
\n• Regular standing, walking, reaching, bending, and handling materials.
\n• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
\n• Required vision: close, distance, color, and depth perception.
\nWork Environment
\n• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional electrical components.
\n• Work near freight moving equipment.
\n• Moderate to high noise; hearing protection required in designated areas.
\n• Non climate controlled environment with seasonal temperature changes.
