The incumbent willbe responsible foraligning site specific Environmental Health and Safety processes with business goals and to engage employees to promote behaviors that will achieve the highest levels of productivity in the safest possible manner. The incumbent willestablish, implement, and oversee all EHS programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Align corporate and local EHS goals and strategies Lead EHS audits and inspections, developing remediation plans as needed Lead multi-media environmental compliance including, but not limited to: Water (waste, storm); Waste (hazardous and non-hazardous); Air (external emissions) Lead continuous improvement initiative regarding EHS policies and programs Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations Lead employee training programs regarding EHS behaviors and compliance Complete accident investigations and serious incident reports Recommend corrective/preventative measureswhereindicated Interact with regulatory bodies and represent the company at local, state, and federal regulatory meetings Determinethe need for industrial hygiene monitoring (air, noise, heat stress, etc.) and conduct the monitoring or coordinate the monitoring with theappropriate agency Review the results of industrial hygiene sampling and compare toestablishedregulatory limits Participate in Quality Assurance reviews within the facility Assistin 3rd party audits and inspectionspertaining tofood safety and regulatory compliance Manage emergency management programs Manage safety budget Develop and drive a safety committee team COMPETENCIES: Self-motivated with strong problem solving/critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills. Ability to use data to drive decisions. Ability to remain organized while handling several projects and tasks independently in fast-paced environment.
