Lab Support Assistant, Full-Time Evenings, 1230p-9pm

Lab Support Assistant (Full‑Time Evening) Boston, MA – 1230 p - 9 p shift. Job Summary Enters patient test orders and demographic information into the computer system. Essential Responsibilities Enter specimen demographics and test orders; add tests when requested to the appropriate specimen type. Identify, label and package specimens according to protocol; handle them safely during transport and upon receipt in the lab. Process routine and STAT specimens in accordance with protocol; aliquot specimens to meet service goals. Store specimens in appropriate locations and maintain integrity; retrieve specimens for add‑ons. Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously. Maintain a clean, well‑stocked work area. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 0–1 year related work experience. Basic computer familiarity; ability to navigate web‑based applications. Preferred Qualifications Laboratory experience. Competencies Written communication – ability to read and write English to understand safety instructions and communicate with patients, families and staff. Oral communication – ability to comprehend spoken English and respond to routine questions. Knowledge – basic understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures. Teamwork – ability to interact respectfully with employees, professional staff and external contacts. Customer service – positive attitude and timely, respectful response to requests. Physical Nature of the Job Medium work: occasionally exert up to 50 lb, frequently up to 20 lb; requires standing and moving for the majority of shift. Pay Range $20.90 – $28.13 per hour (base hourly wage; may exceed based on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, etc.).
