Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Postpartum Nurse position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care, adhering to established clinical protocols, and supporting patient education during the postpartum period. The selected candidate will work overnight shifts, delivering quality care to mothers and infants in a dynamic clinical environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  • 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
  • Demonstrated IV Skills and ability to perform lab draws
  • Demonstrated knowledge of high risk medication administration (Magnesium/Oxytocin/Insulin)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IStat point of care testing device
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Adult Cardiac monitoring
  • Demonstrated knowledge of newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability to perform heel sticks/venipuncture on newborns
  • Demonstrated knowledge of neonatal medication including ability to perform IV administration and maintenance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Bili-blankets/lights
  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiant warmers
  • Demonstrated knowledge to support gynecology teaching & post-operative bladder training
  • Demonstrated knowledge to support maternal-newborn teaching
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of postpartum experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience
• Additional Information:
  • This position involves supporting postpartum patient education and neonatal care, including monitoring and medication administration, and utilizing various neonatal monitors and equipment.
