Identifies and meets the patient's needs in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS****:****EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:**1. High School Diploma or equivalent.2. Current Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by state where services are provided.**WV** – Nurse Aide through WV DHHR Nurses Aide Registry3. Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire date.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS****:****EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:**1. Current enrollment in an RN or LPN program **EXPERIENCE:**1. Prior experience as a restorative nursing aide.2. Prior patient care experience in an acute care hospital and/or post-acute (skilled nursing, rehab hospital, or home health) setting3. Phlebotomy experience4. Performs direct patient assignments, applying good judgement and knowledge of skills required within the realm of the job responsibility.2. Reports all pertinent observations and concerns directly to the Physical Therapist.3. Demonstrates the ability to assist patients with a restorative/maintenance mobility program as outlined by staff physical therapists.4. Documents on appropriate areas of the patient chart as per policy and procedure.5. Demonstrates competency in clinical and technical skills, completes skills check list, and performs these skills daily as required.6. Provides a high level of customer service in accordance with established hospital customer service standards.7. Assists with admission of the patient (i.e. completion of the appropriate areas of admission forms, initial vital signs, orientation to room and unit, etc.) as directed by the RN.**For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements:**1. Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to communicate effectively verbally and written with nurses and therapists.7. Able to self-initiate work in a fast-paced environment8. Able to accurately attain and report vital signs9. Able to identify basic signs of distress and report to nursing.10. Able to properly fit and apply ambulation/mobility devices splints, slings, and orthoses/prostheses11.
