PETCT Technologist-Per Diem

Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure, and bring them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They demonstrate technical competence by interpreting physician orders, selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest‑quality PET/CT images and studies, enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence. Because the technologists work in various environments—freestanding outpatient centers, mobile coaches, or hospital‑based inpatient facilities—their flexibility allows them to deliver the best imaging care at any access point. Responsibilities Ensure patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, and compliance with radiation safety regulations. Produce high‑quality diagnostic images and maintain proper documentation when working with radioactive materials or patients. Effectively communicate with patients and radiologists. Train new technologists and PC’s. Troubleshoot the scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils, etc.). Adhere to COVID‑19 vaccination requirements as applicable. Position Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred. Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required. State license, as required. CPR certification required. Valid state driver’s license, as applicable. 1–2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred. Ability to work at several locations. Strong customer service skills. Organizational and multi‑tasking skills. Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs. Local travel may be required. All candidates will be required to complete a pre‑employment background check and drug screen. Physical Requirements More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements; see, speak, and hear for patient communication. Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl, climb and balance; carry and lift non‑ambulatory patients for transfer or exam. May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions during patient transport on mobile units. May be exposed to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease. Compensation The pay range for this position is $36.90–$47.97 per hour, based on direct and relevant experience. The final compensation offer is determined by multiple factors, including internal equity, experience, education, training, specialty, location, licensing, and business needs.
