Warehouse Assistant Manager

Warehouse Manager AssistantSpectra360 is seeking a qualified Warehouse Manager Assistant for our client in Edison, NJ. This role provides daily operational support across receiving, putaway, inventory control, picking, packaging, labeling, truck scheduling, and shipping. The Warehouse Manager Assistant works closely with warehouse and operations management to maintain inventory accuracy, uphold quality standards, and ensure accurate system updates for shipping and invoicing.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate inbound receiving, verify product condition, and ensure accurate placement in designated bin locations.Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, bin audits, and efficient use of storage locations.Verify correct product selection, serial number capture, and packing lists before shipment.Confirm proper packaging materials, pallet types, and secure, accurate, readable product labels.Assist with outbound truck scheduling, verify routing, and ensure products are loaded onto the correct carriers.Confirm shipments meet customer requirements and match internal documentation before release.Accurately record shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions to support invoicing and daily operational reporting.Inspect products for visible defects, packaging concerns, and labeling inconsistencies before shipment.Collaborate with warehouse leads, quality control, and operations management to resolve discrepancies and maintain efficient workflows.Implement quality and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) procedures. Write and update standard operating procedures and train staff on proper execution.Support hiring, performance evaluations, training, development, and promotion decisions based on merit and performance.Required Skills and QualificationsExperience in warehouse operations, distribution, or logistics.Strong understanding of receiving, putaway, picking, and shipping processes.Ability to identify labeling, packaging, and serial number discrepancies.Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.Strong communication and coordination skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience in distribution or manufacturing.Experience with inventory control or bin optimization.Forklift certification.Experience with truck routing or carrier coordination.Physical and Warehouse RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.Comfort working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.Ability to inspect products, pallets, and labels with attention to detail.Performance ExpectationsMaintain accurate inventory counts and bin locations.Ensure picking accuracy and compliance with serial number capture requirements.Support on-time shipment release and adherence to truck schedules.Maintain accurate and timely ERP transactions.Reduce labeling and packaging errors.Uphold quality standards for outbound shipments.BenefitsMedical and dental insurance with an employee contribution.Company-paid vision and life insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid vacation and sick time.Discretionary bonuses and profit sharing.
