Description

The Quality Repair Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and performing repairs on Commercial & Residential Ice Machines, bins, dispensers, condensers, line sets, and other products related to the commercial and residential ice platform which meets design specification and exceeds customer satisfaction.

The Quality Repair Technician is a specialist performing refrigeration, cosmetic, and other repairs with the utmost attention to detail. This work will be achieved by observing industry trained and internal True standards.

The Quality Repair Technician is responsible for documenting all repairs, reporting observed trends, and ensuring proper documentation to include proper dispositioning of replacement and failed components.

The Quality Repair Technician will work closely with the Process Control Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer, and various other teams in the support of quality problem solving.

The Quality Repair Technician will support in the implementation and sustainment of OpX lean goals and strategies for improving quality. They will support and sustain existing OpX policy by promoting the company's continuous improvement philosophy.

• Any manufacturing repair exceeding takt time of the respective manufacturing process
• Troubleshoot to component level
• Update and collaborate with Ice team to update existing troubleshooting guide
• Remove, replace, and assemble components as required
• Safely perform refrigeration reclamation per industry standard
• Safely perform continuity, ground bond, and hipot testing
• Refrigeration charge and seal refrigeration systems
• Braze and solder to repair refrigeration or water circuits
• Repair or replace electrical connectors and circuits (assemblies)
• Repair foam short shot assemblies per SOP
• Repair rotational mold liners per quality SOP
• Repair compression molded plastic component (case/base)
• Ability to safely and correctly use various approved chemistry at True appropriate for the repair performed
• Repair or replace commercial ice evaporator studs
• Perform commercial & residential ice machine, dispenser, or condenser functional test to assure design specification is met after repair and before placement back onto the respective manufacturing area per SOP
• To support finding the cause of the defect and solution during root cause analysis
• Assist with data collection as directed
• Assist with new product validations as related to manufacturing processes
• Assist in trouble shooting component quality related issues on production lines as needed
• Will support Process Control Resources performing conducting weekly line process audits and finish goods quality audits
• Will provide their technical experience in the support of DFMEA and PFMEA development
• Maintains compliance to safety standards, quality systems in manufacturing and engineering product meeting design specification.
• Horus are Monday-Thursday 5:45 a.m. 4:15 p.m. (4x10)

Qualifications

• Certificate in HVAC/Refrigeration Technology or R&D/Model Shop Experience preferred or 5 years or more of manufacturing experience
• Ability to read interpret and understand wire diagrams and drawings
• Experience in refrigeration reclamation and charging hydrocarbon (R290) and other refrigerants
• Experience brazing and soldering
• Experience Isocyanate & Polyol (resin) foam delivery and handling
• Experience silicone application
• Experience in use of a metering device (multimeter) to measure amp draw, voltage, continuity and ground circuits
• Experience in use of various hand tools to include but not limited tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gages
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of JDE is a plus
• Ability to prioritize assignments and manage time
• Maintain/update files
• Demonstrated self-motivated, initiative driven and high degree of professionalism
