Job Description
A Registered Respiratory Therapist opportunity is available at a 380-bed acute-care hospital in Fort Pierce, FL. The hospital offers a broad range of services including a Heart Institute, open-heart surgery, labor and delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and inpatient and outpatient surgical services.
The role. As a core member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments — including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure — and conducts diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy. The role involves administering oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy, as well as assisting with placement of artificial airways and initiating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical ventilation. The Therapist monitors patients for therapeutic response and intervenes appropriately when an unintended response occurs, assists with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients, and responds to emergent situations to ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
What we're looking for.
- Associate Degree
- (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Full-time, nights with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $30.34 - $41.50/hr plus Sign-on bonus available
