Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have Skills/Experience: EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills Description: Orientation is bi-weekly. Facility has 294 beds. It is Joint Commission Accredited. Specialties include cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, surgical services, and more. The facility is located 45 miles east of a major city. It is a 2-hour drive from the coast. It is approximately 1 hour from several major universities. There is a 15-minute drive to a nearby lake. The area is known for historic sites. Meditech experience is preferred. There are 22 beds in the unit. Patient ratios are 5:1 or 6:1. Equipment used includes Welch Allyn V/S machine, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, Computers on Wheels, TR band, Baxter IV pumps. The electronic health record system is Meditech EMR. The supervising staff includes a Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The role involves managing discharges and admissions with basic cardiac drip knowledge being a plus. Common diagnoses include CHF, CP, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post-cardiac catheterization care. Candidates should be team-oriented and flexible. An associate degree is required, and a BSN is preferred. Scrub color is not assigned, and artificial nails are not allowed. This position is a replacement for permanent staff.
