Position Summary Responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving finished goods while maintaining inventory accuracy and associated records. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. Position Responsibilities Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including filling and shipping customer orders. Satisfy internal shipping requirements, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation. Receive goods/items from production, packaging assemblies and receiving into finished goods. Ensure inventory transactions are accurately logged and oversee cycle counts and reconciliation activities. Measure and report the effectiveness of the department activities. Develop and maintain departmental work instructions for all tasks. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by customer commitments, production schedules and workflow. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance. Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean enterprise practices. Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serve internal customers. Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to make calculations such as freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages. Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Position Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field Experience: 3+ years of warehouse experience 2+ years of supervisory experience Experience with lean methodologies Forklift certification APICS/CPIM certification is a plus Work Environment and Physical Requirements Manufacturing Environment Lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer Disclaimer This list does not represent all physical demands.
