About Us Lifeskills Behavioral Health offers an intimate, personalized environment with a low staff‑to‑client ratio in downtown Orlando. Our focus is on the underlying disorders through a comprehensive whole‑person approach, serving adults 18 and older who are resistant to medication, exhibit risk‑taking behavior, or have undergone multiple treatment episodes. We provide 24/7 nursing support in a structured, therapeutic setting. Position Overview The Nurse Manager interacts with clients and team members throughout shifts, assisting direct care staff and ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include taking physician orders, preparing and administering medications, assessing and documenting client health, and coordinating health/medical services. Essential Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing assessments of client medical needs, capabilities, and limitations. Record and transcribe physicians’ written and verbal orders; delegate and follow up on STAT orders immediately. Communicate observations and recommendations for clients’ plans of care, and identify abnormal diagnostic data. Document medication administration (including PRN) in compliance with established policies and procedures. Coordinate pharmacy and laboratory orders, delivery, and refills with vendors. Secure all controlled medications and monitor correct usage. Administer medications and injections per physician orders and the medication administration record. Maintain a therapeutic environment in collaboration with other staff. Document observations in nursing assessment and weekly notes using Best Notes in a timely manner. Prepare clients for discharge through counseling and clear instructions. Educate clients and families on medications, side effects, contraindications, and symptoms. Review clinical records for accuracy and quality of documentation. Assist in coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges. Coordinate facility infection control program to meet policy and procedure requirements. Additional Responsibilities Attend work as scheduled with minimal absence. Adapt to changes in facility function, management styles, and routines. Understand and adhere to all company policy statements on ethics, conduct, and conflict of interest. Act as a team player and maintain a positive attitude. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida, maintained in a current, clear status. Active First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Clear TB skin test or chest X‑ray. Physical Requirements The position involves communicating with peers, clients, and vendors; tolerating varying noise levels; moving throughout the building; and performing tasks such as talking, hearing, standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, and carrying up to 15 pounds.
