Team Lead Enrollment and Billing

The Team Lead, Enrollment & Billing is responsible for overseeing production for a defined line of business at Healthfirst. The Team Lead is directly responsible for supervising non‑exempt employees, monitoring attendance, approving time cards of the staff, and providing production reports to management on department tasks. The role also monitors employee performance, implements improvement solutions, hires new staff, and manages onboarding. This position ensures all deadlines and time frames are met on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. It encompasses the development and implementation of operating policies & procedures, which may include enrollment, billing, reconciliation, audits, special projects, and backup support of other lines of business as needed. The incumbent reports on line‑of‑business metrics such as member invoicing and collections, monitoring production standards and ensuring all deadlines are met timely and accurately. Duties and Responsibilities Oversee front‑line staff to ensure production deadlines are met while maintaining accuracy and quality standards for member enrollment and billing. Approve timecards, overtime, and staffing needs for front‑line staff. Assist in developing metrics to report trends, identify root causes, and provide solutions to mitigate or eliminate challenges. Coach, mentor, and develop staff; take ownership of new employee onboarding. Review, approve, and, in partnership with the manager, deliver corrective action plans. Ensure compliance with all New York State, Federal, and State rules and regulations. Update job aids, policies, and procedures when changes occur or when regulatory requirements or new products/processes are implemented. Conduct weekly staff meetings to encourage communication and disseminate information; hold monthly one‑on‑one meetings. Ensure the member experience is positive by providing appropriate and expedient resolution to escalated or identified issues; provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure staff operates at maximum capacity. Report and review production activity; provide status updates on daily, weekly, and monthly team tasks. Prepare and submit audit data accurately and in a timely manner. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel. Experience creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word. Experience leading project teams and independent projects within specified timelines. Experience communicating with cross‑functional employees within an organization. Previous supervisory experience with six or more direct reports. Preferred Qualifications Experience interpreting data. Industry knowledge of Government‑Sponsored Managed Health Care Plans and/or enrollment operations. Familiarity with MHS, ePaces, and possibly MP. Experience with Tableau or Power BI data visualization. Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and Long Term Care. Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all New York State, Federal, and State rules and regulations. Hiring Range* Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $68,900 – $99,620 All other locations (within approved locations): $61,300 – $89,440 Benefits Healthfirst offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, incentive and recognition programs, life insurance, and 401(k) contributions (subject to eligibility requirements).
