Neurodiagnostic Tech

Summary Performs or assists in performing various diagnostic studies, including electroencephalograph (EEG), epilepsy monitoring, long‑term/ambulatory monitoring and scanning, evoked potentials and transcranial doppler (TCD) for vasospasm studies. Provides direct services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and critical‑care patients per department and hospital policies. Performs procedures to maintain and operate diagnostic equipment within manufacturer specifications and accreditation requirements. Population served based on scope of services in the department. Responsibilities Performs various EEG diagnostic and transcranial doppler diagnostic procedures according to department policy and procedure. Provides efficient operations, monitors flow of test results to the patient electronic medical record (EMR) and integrates patients, inpatient and outpatient, into the testing schedule to ensure timely studies. Assures quality testing, audits, training, in‑servicing, and competency assessment. Provides timely and accurate video EEG markings for provider review and clipping. Provides documentation and record keeping including reports required by regulating bodies and department leadership. Assists in preparing various reports required by regulatory agencies and department leadership and logs data on performed procedures. Assists in assuring that supplies are adequately maintained for all special procedures. Maintains and models REACH values (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Compassion, Honor). Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. Performs other duties as required. Education, Skills & Experience License, Registration, or Certification Requirements: Registered Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technologist preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS). Environmental Factors Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Potential environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Bio‑hazardous waste Blood‑borne pathogens – possible exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Chemicals/commercial products Exposure to latex Fumes or airborne particles Background noise level – varies from moderate to very loud. Patient care/handling duties Radiation exposure Repetitive motion Risk of electrical shock Shift work Vibration May be requested to work overtime or weekends for coverage.
