Tech - MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, the Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist performs a comprehensive range of laboratory tests, analyses, and services to support patient care. The role involves applying advanced technical skills to ensure accurate test results and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Conducts all levels of laboratory testing, including high complexity procedures as defined by CLIA.
  
  
• 
  Evaluates and interprets test results, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  
  
• 
  Maintains laboratory equipment and instrumentation, performing quality control and troubleshooting issues.
  
  
• 
  Writes and updates laboratory procedures following CLSI standards and ensures proper documentation.
  
  
• 
  Trains new staff, monitors competency, and contributes to process improvement initiatives.
  
  
• 
  Ensures compliance with CAP, CLIA, and other regulatory standards during inspections.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possesses a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
  
  
• 
  Holds a current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (AMT or ASCP).
  
  
• 
  Has a minimum of three years of relevant laboratory experience.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory testing, quality control, and LIS operation.
  
  
• 
  Skilled in communicating clearly, establishing teamwork, and troubleshooting technical issues.
