Our client, a leading electrical solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers supporting utility, industrial, and commercial power system projects. This role oversees electrical system design, power system studies, protection & control work, and project execution to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers (up to 12 staff).
• Oversee power system studies—load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination, harmonics, motor-starting, and DC analysis.
• Review and design protection & control schemes for substations, transmission, and distribution systems.
• Support testing, commissioning, QA/QC, and field walkdowns.
• Collaborate with project management and internal/external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Drive process improvements in training, quality, and engineering standards.
• Prepare technical reports, estimates, and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar and active P.E. license (Texas or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• 12+ years of total experience with 7+ years of power systems experience specifically, and 3+ years as Engineer of Record and leading engineering teams.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, CYME, PowerWorld, and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of protection & control, transmission/distribution systems, and industry standards (IEEE, NEC, NESC, NFPA).
• Previous track record of establishing and leading teams, along with proven ability to leverage business development expertise to drive new client growth
