The role independently executes moderately complex to complex technical tasks, interprets engineering documentation, and supports resolution of non-routine technical issues. Success is demonstrated through reliable execution, accurate documentation, effective problem identification, and meaningful contribution to engineering outcomes.ResponsibilitiesAdvanced Technical & Engineering SupportIndependently support complex engineering tests, experiments, and development activitiesBuild, modify, assemble, and troubleshoot prototypes, test fixtures, and engineering equipmentExecute non-routine technical tasks requiring interpretation of drawings, procedures, or specificationsProvide hands-on support for design validation, process development, or product sustainment initiativesTesting, Data Collection & Problem ResolutionOperate advanced test equipment, instrumentation, and measurement tools with minimal directionCollect, verify, analyze, and summarize test and engineering dataIdentify abnormalities, trends, or failures and collaborate with engineers to resolve issuesSupport root-cause investigations and implementation of corrective actionsEquipment, Tools & Lab SupportSet up, maintain, and perform advanced troubleshooting of test fixtures and laboratory equipmentCoordinate maintenance, calibration, or repair of engineering equipment as neededEnsure workspaces, tools, and equipment are safe, organized, and production-readySafety, Documentation & ComplianceEnsure work complies with safety requirements, engineering procedures, and quality standardsDevelop and maintain accurate technical documentation, logs, and test recordsSupport audits, reviews, or assessments related to engineering activitiesTechnical Guidance & CollaborationWork closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to support project objectivesCommunicate technical findings, observations, and recommendations clearlyProvide informal mentoring or technical guidance to Engineering Technician I and II employeesKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAdvanced working knowledge of technical practices related to testing, assembly, and troubleshootingAbility to independently execute complex technical tasks with limited supervisionStrong proficiency with test equipment, instrumentation, and measurement toolsSolid analytical and problem-solving skills applied to non-routine technical issuesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and proceduresStrong attention to detail and data accuracyEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with engineers and technical teamsDemonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementTravel· Both Domestic and International Travel up to 10%Languages· English requiredAdditional Job DetailsEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec Nidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
