Sales Director

Our client is an established metal stamping and fabrication manufacturer seeking a Sales Director to lead its business development and inside sales teams. Reporting to the President and serving on the executive team, this leader will own sales strategy, annual revenue and profitability goals, pipeline performance, CRM discipline, and the continued development of the sales organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies that support profitable year-over-year growth.
• Establish annual sales targets, quarterly priorities, activity expectations, and performance metrics.
• Lead, coach, and develop business development managers, inside sales, customer service, estimating, and sales administration.
• Conduct weekly sales meetings focused on pipeline movement, open quotations, customer activity, current orders, and performance against goals.
• Identify emerging market opportunities and position the company with decision-makers early in the buying process.
• Drive new customer development while expanding relationships and revenue within existing accounts.
• Maintain executive-level customer relationships and strengthen connections across engineering, quality, operations, and sourcing.
• Own the sales process and ensure accurate opportunity, customer, activity, and forecast data within the CRM.
• Partner with engineering, operations, finance, and estimating to develop competitive pricing, improve margins, and accelerate quotations.
• Help customers improve component design, material selection, coatings, manufacturability, and processing through value-based selling.
• Improve the RFQ, proposal, quotation, and order processes through technology, automation, and stronger internal coordination.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, market insight, and recommended actions to executive leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of sales leadership experience with responsibility for direct reports and new-business development.
• 3+ years of experience selling metal fabrication, stamping, or related contract manufacturing services.
• Proven success achieving revenue, profitability, pipeline, and customer-development goals.
• Working knowledge of fabrication processes including laser cutting, press brake forming, welding, stamping, and assembly.
• Experience coaching sales teams and managing activity, pipeline, and performance metrics.
• Proficiency with CRM and ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred.
• Strong financial understanding, including pricing, margins, forecasting, and profitability.
• Strong executive communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-development skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field preferred; MBA a plus.
