Territory Manager Market Support - San Antonio

The primary purpose of this position is to develop and manage established and new customers by selling food and non-food items to achieve sales and profitability goals. Primary areas of responsibility include:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary owner of customer relationship Foster the customer relationship in a team-based selling model while covering for other Territory Managers Sell and engage customers in value-added activities Leverage resources to assist with top penetration opportunities and new accounts opening Manage deliveries to the routing schedule published by the transportation department; troubleshoot any order-process problems (e.g., delivery mis-picks, short loads, stock-outs) Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit department and client; collect all balances due based on approved credit terms Develop new business; identify prospective customers using market-intelligence databases, business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in organizations and clubs, and attendance at trade shows and conferences Know market conditions, product innovations, competitors’ products, prices, and sales; share information with customers as part of value-added services Drive a motor vehicle to existing customers and prospects to ensure product delivery, which may require lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact External: Customers, vendors, prospective customers

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Frequently outside the office environment visiting customers in variable weather and temperature conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1+ year of sales experience preferred Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold-call to develop new business Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills Competitive spirit and results-driven mentality Problem-solving ability, organization and negotiation skills Team-up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office products – experience using customer-relationship-management tools preferred (e.g., Salesforce)

HS Diploma or equivalent

Valid driver’s license required; motor-vehicle record must be in good standing

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Lifting or carrying up to 75 lbs as required for product delivery Ability to stand, walk, drive a vehicle, and sit for frequent periods Capacity to perform moderate physical tasks such as stooping, squatting, and kneeling occasionally

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Initial expected base rate between $55,000 and $95,000, with potential incentive compensation Benefits may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance
