Physical Therapist II - Part Time 24 hours

Summary Physical Therapy provides services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain with emphasis on physical dysfunction. Such therapy encompasses evaluation and analysis of patients and therapeutic application, physical and chemical agents, exercise, instruction to patient/family, and other procedures to maximize functional independence. Working Hours 24 Hours Department hours: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am‑8:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am‑5:00 pm. Evenings until 8 pm required. No weekends. Responsibilities Performs therapy evaluations, treatment planning, and implementation utilizing department clinical guidelines and protocols. Participates in team conference/rounds for coordination of patient’s plan of care. Provides patient/family education and training. Provides peer review and participates in performance improvement activities. Documents performance based on department guidelines. Initiates discharge planning involving patient, family, and team members as appropriate; recommends equipment to meet patient needs. Attends 20 hours of continuing education per year; provides 2 hours of in‑service education per year to staff. Provides full‑time clinical experience to students. Acts as mentor to lower‑level staff. Participates in orienting, teaching, guiding, and evaluating assistive personnel; delegates to support personnel. Seeks guidance from higher‑level staff as needed. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Skills & Experience Minimum experience: one year. Connecticut State Physical Therapy License. Bachelor’s degree and minimum one year of experience. Other Information FIM certification in Physical Therapy rehab settings. CPR Certification. Working Conditions Manual: significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. Occupational: significant occupational risk. Physical Effort: very heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs of force.
