ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team on the 4th Floor, a mixed ICU unit serving both medical and cardiovascular patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing, with ability to manage a range of complex patient conditions.

Shift Information
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift Schedule: Nights, 1900-0730
  • Weekend Requirement: May require working a significant number of Sundays due to high need.
Unit Details
  • Bed Capacity: 24 beds
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU level acuity, 1:3-4 for PCU level acuity.
  • Common Diagnoses Include: Sepsis, COPD, Covid, pneumonia, withdrawal, strokes post TNK administration, CRRT, IABP, Impella, PA catheters, and recovery of immediate open-heart patients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill patients.
  • Titrate IV drips including sedation, vasoactive medications, and paralytics.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring techniques and interpret cardiac strips independently.
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in self-scheduling and work collaboratively to fill scheduling gaps as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.
  • Required Certifications: Washington state or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
  • Preferred Skills: Management of advanced nursing technologies such as Swans, Prismaflex CRRT, IABP, and experience in immediate open-heart recovery.
Additional Information
  • CNA support is available at a 1:12 ratio, with potential for 1:1 sitter assignments.
  • Hospitalist or Intensivist is in-house 24/7 with a dedicated pharmacist until 11 PM.
  • Respiratory therapy support is available continuously.
  • Nurses will float as necessary, primarily among critical care units.
  • Professional scrub colors are required.
  • An EPIC training module will be mandatory for nursing staff, in addition to an 8-hour onboarding orientation.
