Chocolate Packer & Line Operator

Position Overview

Philadelphia Candies is seeking dedicated Chocolate Packers and Line Operators to join our production team. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced confectionery environment during our peak production periods, with potential time off during slower summer months.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate chocolate packaging equipment and production line machinery
• Pack finished chocolate products according to quality standards and specifications
• Inspect products for quality control and remove defective items
• Maintain accurate production counts and complete required documentation
• Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures
• Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance tasks
• Work efficiently to meet daily production quotas
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth line operations
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
• Capable of lifting up to 25-30 pounds regularly
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments
• Basic math skills for counting and measuring
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Willingness to work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in food manufacturing or packaging
• Familiarity with production line operations
• Basic understanding of food safety practices
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing and walking
• Repetitive hand and wrist movements
• Ability to work in cool temperatures (chocolate production environment)
• Visual acuity to inspect products for quality
• Ability to work at a consistent pace for extended periods

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Seasonal position with primary work periods during fall, winter, and spring months
• Hours: Full-time during active seasons, typically 40+ hours per week
• Shifts: Day and evening shifts available
• Compensation: Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience

Seasonal Employment Structure

This position follows our seasonal production schedule, with active employment during peak chocolate production periods (typically September through May). During slower summer months, employees may experience temporary layoffs, during which time they may be eligible for unemployment benefits subject to state regulations and individual circumstances.
