Nursing Faculty-Graduate NP

Position Overview Primary Purpose of the Position: A significant result of the nursing shortage is the limited number of qualified nurse educators. Adjunct faculty are an integral part of the curriculum and faculty structure in the Division of Nursing. They focus principally on excellence in instruction and engagement, provide clinical and practicum supervision of nursing students, and collaborate with healthcare agencies, professional organizations, and other constituencies. Responsibilities and Duties Teach the required number of credit hours per semester based on contract. Develop, implement, evaluate, and update nursing program objectives and framework. Assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum. Provide mentoring and guidance to students in assigned courses. Plan instructional and clinical experiences aligned with MSN – FNP program. Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes. Schedule administrative time for classroom, laboratory, clinical preparation, and student meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements Hold an earned MSN for didactic role or a PharmD degree to teach pharmacology. At least two years of full‑time professional nursing clinical experience (if clinical practice position). Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty members and students. Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills. Hold a current, unrestricted RN license in North Carolina or be eligible to obtain one. Current Basic Life Support certification. Current unrestricted NC Registered Nurse license and/or certification as a family nurse practitioner. Valid U.S. Driver's License. Preferred Additional Qualifications PhD or DNP preferred. Two years of full‑time teaching experience in a nursing or healthcare program.
