Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience preferred License: Active RN license required Certifications: PALS, BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience is highly preferred - Candidates must possess strong clinical skills Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. This position requires a commitment to working 3 shifts per week from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. The nurse will provide care for children with congenital heart disease of varying ages based on individual needs. The caregiver will support patients undergoing cardiac surgery, heart transplants, and various medical diagnoses associated with cardiac care. Common procedures in this unit include cardiac catheterizations and complex supportive therapies such as ECMO and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including Respiratory Therapy and Pediatric Dietitians. Patient ratios will range from 1:1 to 1:2 based on patient acuity. Weekend shifts are required, with a total of 4 weekend shifts included in a 4-week schedule. This position does not require on-call duty. All patient beds are monitored, ensuring a high level of care and safety. Pediatric palliative care is available as needed. We encourage applicants who are adaptable and willing to float within the scope of care to meet facility needs. The hiring process prioritizes candidates with active licenses in hand.
