Rehabilitation Therapy Technician III (RTT III) Date: May 4, 2026 Job Overview Provide moderate‑habilitation therapy support at the Austin State Supported Living Center for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role includes assisting assigned therapists, conducting functional assessments, training staff, and maintaining accurate documentation. Essential Responsibilities Assist assigned therapists in developing and evaluating treatment plans across therapeutic specialties. Implement treatment plans through hands‑on methods, observe progress, and monitor goals. Conduct functional skills assessments and supervise Direct Support Professionals. Gather treatment data, complete required paperwork, and report findings to the interdisciplinary team. Provide staff training and ensure continuity of treatment objectives during therapists’ absence. Maintain current skills related to assigned responsibilities. Participate in disaster response, continuity of operations, and other agency‑required activities. Core Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or GED (preferred). At least six months of work experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities or in therapeutic work. Experience in applied behavior analysis, sensory integration, music therapy, therapeutic recreation, dance/movement therapy, occupational/physical therapy, psychology, or vocational rehabilitation (preferred). Experience developing treatment and support plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (preferred). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in relevant therapeutic techniques (e.g., A.B.A., sensory integration). Ability to train staff in treatment methods and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain data collection systems. Computer and software literacy. Understanding of ICF/IID regulations and state supported living center policies. Physical capability to meet the requirements of direct‑contact staff positions. Teamwork and cooperation skills. Additional Requirements Valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain it within 90 days; may need to drive a state vehicle. Must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be willing to work overtime, extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required. Male applicants 18‑25 must register with the Selective Service.
