Lactation Consultant Full Time Nights

Job Summary Provides professional leadership and advanced knowledge in the practice of lactation management. Assesses patient’s needs, diagnoses lactation problems, plans and implements intervention, and evaluates outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluate educational outcomes. Provide outpatient care, consultation, and home visits for families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties. Serve as consultant for physicians and other healthcare providers concerning lactation as it relates to patient’s health problems. Qualifications Education: Academic degree in nursing or food and nutrition; preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or food and nutrition. Experience: Experience working with Mother-Baby couplets in low and high-risk situations. Certifications and Licensure: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice a profession (such as Registered Nurse, Registered Dietitian) as required by law; must be certified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC); AHA BLS.
