Adjunct Instructor - Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) [Wise County Campus] The Weatherford College Department of Nursing is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) courses. This position is a continuous recruitment adjunct faculty role available on a part‑time basis. The successful candidate will join a pool from which the department draws when course openings arise. No Position Summary All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position. The role involves teaching approved CNA courses, facilitating student acquisition of specific learning outcomes, and mentoring students inside and outside the classroom. The instructor will create and maintain an effective learning environment across face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, and dual‑credit modalities. Hours vary and may include day, evening, and weekend instruction. Hourly pay will depend on qualifications. Required Education LVN or RN with a minimum of one year of nursing experience in a Medicaid, Medicare, or dual‑participating nursing facility; completion of a course in teaching adults or experience supervising nurse aides. Copies of certificates/licenses and transcripts required. Faculty must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for courses designed for workforce certificates or degree completion, demonstrating an appropriate academic degree and teaching competencies. Associate degree with 2‑5 years work experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 6‑10 years work experience, or Master’s degree with 11‑15 years work experience, or Doctorate with 16+ years work experience, Required Experience One year of nursing experience in a long‑term care facility as described above. Preferred Experience Five years overall nursing experience plus completion of a course in teaching adults or experience supervising nurse aides. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The adjunct instructor will... Teach courses in the approved discipline using traditional and non‑traditional learning modes. Provide instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes. Mentor students inside and outside the classroom. Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the assigned modalities. Engage in instructional preparation and provide timely feedback to students. Submit final grades in a timely fashion. Maintain ethical and professional behavior and be available to students by appointment. Attend adjunct faculty meetings and assess courses on departmental and institutional levels. Complete required training and additional duties as assigned. Adhere to College policies and procedures. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual‑credit courses; achieve specific course goals; create a professional learning environment; communicate effectively; treat all individuals with respect and dignity; exercise ethical standards; and observe College policies.
