Physician-Psychiatrist (Outpatient)

Summary

A recruitment/relocation incentive may be offered to highly qualified candidate(s). The Psychiatry Service Staff Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric care to Veterans referred for Mental Health services within the Psychiatrist's approved privileges. In addition to Veteran care, the Psychiatrist may have responsibilities in other areas such as education and research. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Duties

• The Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric care in an outpatient setting - identifying Veterans' mental and medical health needs and designing diagnostic and therapeutic plans to meet these needs.
• Incumbent serves as the medical subject matter expert within their assigned team and may be responsible for coordinating activities of other health service personnel - resolving problems affecting Veteran care - and providing appropriate education for the Veteran and/or family members regarding the Veteran's care - condition - and its management.
• Care is provided in accordance with VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guidelines as measured by the Peer Review Program and various quality metrics.

• Pay: Competitive salary - annual performance bonus - regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave - 13 days of sick leave - 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification). Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor - the incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
