Project Engineer

Job Description Overview AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Construction Management Florida Team. This is an entry-level position based in Tampa, FL. Responsibilities Participate in engineering investigations and planning work, completing well‑defined tasks. Collect and analyze data using established procedures and perform routine calculations. Evaluate feasibility of alternate solutions. Observe construction activities and determine whether work is performed in substantial compliance with contract plans and specifications. Report observed deficiencies to senior field staff. Sample and test soil density, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials. Verify form construction rebar placement, concrete mixture, pile driving blow counts, drainage structure placement, subgrade and base construction. Write diary inspection reports, weather reports, and document test results and observations. Assist in record keeping and independently perform basic calculations to measure, track and report field measurements of installed quantities. Perform duties assigned by supervisor. Qualifications 0–2 years of experience. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) or a related discipline. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and understand contract plans and specifications. Ability to follow directions, take legible notes, and be physically fit to do manual labor and carry up to 60 lbs. No professional registration required; however, willingness to pursue certifications in nuclear density, aggregate, concrete and asphalt testing is expected. Compensation Expected compensation range is between $57,000 – $72,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
