PRN Nuclear Med Tech

Position Summary Assist radiation oncologist / physicists with providing patients radioactive medication and operating radiation equipment / technology. The role includes preparing patient treatments and following proper radiation safety guidelines. This part‑time position requires availability for two Wednesdays per month at our Carmel location, with each session approximately 3–4 hours. Major Duties and Responsibilities Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions. Follow safety procedures to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure. Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients (Xofigo and Pluvicto). Monitor and react to any unusual patient reactions. Operate radiation / imaging equipment. Maintain detailed procedure records. Follow safety and disposal guidelines for radiation procedures. Order medications for upcoming treatments. Qualifications Education and/or Experience Associate Degree in Nuclear Medicine (minimum). Bachelor Degree in Nuclear Medicine / Radiologic Technology preferred. 2 years’ experience preferred. Skills and Abilities Language skills: ability to read, interpret and write routine medical documentation. Mathematical skills: basic calculation, algebra and geometry. Reasoning: solve practical problems, interpret various instructions. Computer skills: basic computer software knowledge. Knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance prior authorization, safety hazards and precautions. Adaptability, effective communication, organizational and quality assurance skills. Ability to read, comprehend and follow written protocols and policies; establish relationships with patients, families, staff and the public. Physical Demands The employee frequently stands, walks, sits, uses hands to handle instruments, reaches, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls, speaks or hears. The employee often lifts or moves up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Work Environment This role operates in a professional laboratory environment with standard lab equipment.
