Key Responsibilities of the RN – Operating Room

• Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and surgical equipment
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures
• Monitor patient status and maintain a sterile surgical environment
• Administer medications and document patient care accurately
• Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes

Requirements of the RN – Operating Room

• Active RN license in Kansas (or compact state license if applicable)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
