Laboratory - Medical Technologist

Medical Technologist assignment for a 52-week contract working day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The Medical Technologist will perform and interpret laboratory testing at all complexity levels while ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic support for patient care. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of laboratory science principles, and the ability to correlate abnormal laboratory findings with pathological conditions. The technologist will work collaboratively with laboratory and healthcare teams to maintain high-quality laboratory operations and patient safety standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Technologist experience
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical, or Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution required
• Must be certified or certification eligible through ASCP or AMT
• BLS certification required
• Strong understanding of laboratory science principles and complex testing procedures
• Ability to interpret and validate laboratory test results accurately
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Two supervisory references from the past 12 months required at submission
• All certifications must be active and in hand at submission

Unit Details:

The Medical Technologist will perform laboratory testing across multiple complexity levels, interpret test results, and ensure quality control standards are consistently met. Responsibilities include monitoring and verifying quality controls, correlating abnormal laboratory findings with disease processes, troubleshooting instrumentation and testing issues, and determining when additional testing is necessary. The technologist will communicate critical values, specimen requirements, and laboratory information to authorized healthcare personnel while maintaining accurate laboratory documentation. Additional duties include adhering to laboratory safety standards, infection control protocols, and participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
