Senior Data Scientist

Join Siemens Healthineers' Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI) team in Princeton, NJ, a central hub for advancing Artificial Intelligence & Digital Technologies in healthcare. As a Senior AI Scientist, you will work on real-world medical imaging challenges, developing and applying advanced AI/ML methods to improve diagnostic imaging, image-guided therapy, and personalized medicine. This role bridges research and product development, with a focus on translating novel algorithms into impactful clinical solutions. You are responsible for: Conducting research and developing AI/ML algorithms to solve complex problems in medical imaging Applying modern machine learning techniques, including deep learning and generative models, to imaging and inverse problems Collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, clinical partners) to define requirements and deliver solutions Prototyping and validating new approaches through feasibility studies and rapid experimentation Contributing to publications, patents, and internal innovation initiatives Translating research into practice by supporting integration of algorithms into product workflows Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related field Strong foundation in machine learning / artificial intelligence Experience applying ML to real-world problems (e.g., imaging, signal processing, computer vision, or similar domains) Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work through complex technical challenges Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and research outcomes Preferred Qualifications: Experience in medical imaging, computational imaging, or image processing Familiarity with generative AI techniques (e.g., diffusion models, foundation models, or related approaches) Experience with inverse problems, reconstruction, or physics-based modeling Track record of publications or patents in relevant fields Experience working in collaborative research or product development environments Exposure to C++ or performance-oriented implementations The base pay range for this position is: $134,300 - $184,657 The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time.
