Server Assistant

Position Summary:
This position represents the restaurant with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism while selling and serving a fine dining experience. A Server Assistant must interact with restaurant guests, staff members, and management in a polite and hospitable manner to ensure an exemplary dining experience. The position functions as an assistant to the Server or Captain in the basic steps of service throughout a guest’s experience.

Job Responsibilities: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Report by scheduled time to a station assigned by a manager on duty (“MOD”). 
• Prepare the assigned station based on Quality Branded (“QB”) Standard Operating Procedure and additional guidelines. 
• Provide service to tables within a station as determined by management and by the Server or Captain.
• Clear and reset tables according to the restaurant’s guidelines.
• Follow restaurant’s service standards when serving and assisting guests, such as when filling water glasses or clearing plates.
• Respond to guest requests or needs and pass requests along to front waiter or 
management as necessary. Interacts with people beyond giving and receiving 
instructions, particularly in resolving Guest complaints.
• Assist service team with additional duties as requested.
• Maintain server stations stocked with supplies as required both before, during, and after service.
• Interact with guests in a friendly, efficient and professional manner in order to ensure guests’ complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed our guests’ expectations.
• Maintain up-to-date, basic knowledge of Quality Branded’s food and beverage preparation and menus; is able to answer basic questions from guests regarding food and drink.
• Complete specific side-work including but not limited to the setting up of dining room and side stations and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the section, the tables and restaurant before, during and at the conclusion of the shift worked.
• Maintains general cleanliness of the front of house throughout shift.
• Works towards ensuring profitability by controlling waste and following security practices.
• Maintain strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen in adhere to all state health department guidelines. 
• Follow Center for Disease Control (CDC) sanitation guidelines. 
• Comply with QB uniform and hygiene policies. 
• Perform other duties as directed by management. 

Position Requirements:
• Available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• 100% -- Walks and stands during entire shift
• Must be able to frequently seize, grasp, and hold objects with hands.
• 75% - Reaches, bends and stoops frequently. 
• Must be able to move, carry and lift at least 50 pounds with frequency throughout shift. 
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol according to all state and local regulations to serve alcohol. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
• Possess excellent communication skills with management, servers, team members and guests. 
• Able to clearly and accurately communicate with guests and co-workers in English (including reading, writing, and speaking).
• Excellent time management and organizational skills and be able to multi-task.
• Knowledge of all menu items served at restaurant, as well as general knowledge of food, wine, and other beverages. 
• Knowledge of standard and classic restaurant service procedures. 
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and sanitation skills according to Department of Health standards for hygiene and safe food handling. 
• Knowledge of sanitation protocols issued by Center for Disease Control
