Student Support Technician

Job Description and Duties

The California Student Aid Commission is searching for a Program Technician II (PT II). In this role, you will provide direct program and technical support in a high-volume call center. As a PT II, you will provide high quality customer service to our clients, respond to emails, and work/key student forms. You will use your knowledge and application of the appropriate laws, rules, and regulations of CSAC's programs to provide customer service to our clients.

Working Conditions

This position is presently headquartered at 11120 International Drive, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 and may also be expected to report to the Downtown Sacramento location at 1102 Q Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.

• Exposure to computer screens and other basic office equipment.
• Work in a climate-controlled office environment, open office space with artificial lighting.
• Attend meetings in designated conference rooms and be willing to travel to off-site locations.
• Current residency in the state of California is required. This position may be eligible for hybrid telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on CSAC's current telework policy. While CSAC supports telework, regular in-person attendance will be required at CSAC's Rancho Cordova and/or Downtown Sacramento location(s) based on operational needs. Teleworking outside the state of California is strictly prohibited.

• Dependable and punctual, working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and are non-negotiable.
• Work well independently and as part of a team.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Perform well under pressure on time-sensitive and high-priority projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software packages.
• Familiar with the field of education or student financial aid programs.
• Ability to speak and understand Spanish is desirable.
