Bus Driver

Bus Driver Head Start ( is looking for friendly and caring individuals to safely transport enrolled children to and from program each day. Head Start maintains a fleet of 24-passenger buses. As the first person to greet families in the morning and the last person to send children off for the day, our Bus Drivers:

• Build positive relationships with preschoolers and their families through welcoming and open communication

• Ensure children arrive to program on time and safely return home to their caregivers

• Partner with bus monitors to ensure riders follow all bus and road safety rules

• Conduct daily cleaning and visually inspection of buses and assist with coordinating routine maintenance

• Support educational activities by transporting and accompanying classrooms on field trips and helping teaching staff as needed with mealtime and breaks between bus runs

This position has school breaks and summers off.

NOTE: this position location is subject to change. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED/HSED; possess or able to obtain valid, unrestricted New York State CDL-C license with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement; able to pass a physical examination required by New York State Department of Motor Vehicles; successfully complete all training required before assuming driving duties.
