The department has two programs, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling.Selected candidates will have expertise or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas:CPSY 200- Psychology of Interpersonal CommunicationsCPSY 214 - Evidence-Based Approaches to PsychotherapyCPSY 216 - Psychology of Human DevelopmentCPSY 218 - Foundations of Psychotherapy and PersonalityCPSY 219 - Psychology of Group CounselingCPSY 220 - Research MethodsCPSY 231 - Multicultural CounselingCPSY 275 - Ethical and Legal Issues in CounselingCPSY 291- Counseling for Grief, Loss, and TraumaCPSY 300 - Career Development and Life PlanningCPSY 302 - Formal & Informal Assessment in Career DevelopmentCPSY 311 - Psychology of Marriage CounselingCPSY 315 - Family TherapyCPSY 317 - Therapeutic Interventions with ChildrenCPSY 318 - Clinical Assessment I (DSM-V)CPSY 319 - Clinical Assessment IICPSY 320 - Substance Abuse TreatmentCPSY 321 - Dual Diagnosis: Diagnosis and TreatmentCPSY 323 - PsychopharmacologyCPSY 324 - Biological Basis for DevelopmentCPSY 328 - Clinical Assessment: Issues in Child DiagnosisCPSY 381 - Health Psychology: Theory and HealthCPSY 385 - Stress and Stress ManagementAdditional courses as determined by the DepartmentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate degree in Counseling or Clinical PsychologyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Doctoral level and licensed candidates preferred.RESPONSIBILITIESTEACHINGFulfill all responsibilities associated with teaching assigned courses, including but not limited to:Teach no more than two courses per quarter, and no more than four courses over three academic quarters (fall, winter, spring).Conducting and appearing at all assigned class meetings in a timely and prepared manner that demonstrates a command of the discipline and skill in presenting it effectively;Assigning and evaluating assignments that align with the course description and course learning outcomes, and providing timely feedback to students;Holding regular weekly office hours on campus;Submitting student grades that are appropriate, accurate and fair measures of student performance to the Office of the Registrar by the designated deadline;Administering numerical and narrative evaluations for all courses;Teaching from an approved syllabus or working with the Chair to design an appropriate syllabus.Fulfilling other academic duties as may be assigned by the Chair of the Department of Counseling Psychology.REQUESTED APPLICATION MATERIALS:To be considered for the position, the following documents MUST be submitted:Cover Letter that includes the following:Overview of qualifications for the positionTeaching experience and teaching philosophyCourses interested in teachingCurrent curriculum vitaeSPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:Start date varies per quarter.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Please note that your employment is subject to the terms of a collective bargaining agreement between the University and the Service Employees International Union Local 1021 ("Local 1021"; see Clara University is registered to do business in the following states: California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Illinois.
